One stage, a thousand performances
After closing time, exclusively for participants, on Highline Milan a performance is staged in which the only guests, at once spectators and actors, are privileged to be able to take part. In the dark of evening, participants can walk the suspended walkways by lantern light, while professional guides reenact mysterious stories and legends by the light of the moon and the city’s thousand lights. In the midst of the visit, it is possible to bring in thearchitect Giuseppe Mengoni in the flesh, who emerges from the darkness of time to share with guests the mystery that still shrouds his person and hovers suspended in the muffled glow of the opaque stained-glass windows of Milan’s most beloved glass and iron dome.
Milan’s skyline between light and air
Even in the blue airiness of daylight, the spectacular panoramic view from the walkways of Highline Milan leaves participants breathless. As in a painting by Leonardo da Vinci or the Renaissance masters, Milan’s skyline is not a mere backdrop, but a presence in which light and air circulate freely, blending nearby and distant buildings into an atmospheric envelopment. From here one can admire the spires of Milan Cathedral , the Velasca Tower with its peculiar shape resembling a mushroom, and the medieval bell tower of San Gottardo in Corte. Striking glimpses of Milan’s new skyline: futuristic iron-and-glass skyscrapers such as the Unicredit Tower, the Palazzo della Regione Lombardia, and the Diamond Tower, with its multifaceted surface, just like a precious diamond. And there, just out of focus, there they are, the mountains.
A conclusion … with a view
And to amaze guests even more, after the magical experience on the rooftops of Highline Milano, there is nothing better than an exclusive dinner enjoying traditional Milanese dishes at restaurants overlooking the spires of the Duomo, or a final toast to end the evening on a high note at venues on the terraces of Milan’s most glamorous overlooking Piazza Duomo.
