Milan is increasingly strengthening its bond with the world of fashion, designer labels and design, dedicating whole parts of the city to this world and increasingly nurturing the association with the culture of the city and its cultural and urban evolution.
In particular, in some parts of the city the world of fashion meets design, giving rise to unique routes, where the history of fashion and the creative genius of Italian meet themselves in Milan, the capital of fashion, and embrace in perfect harmony, offering a unique experience.
This is the increasingly well-known case of the Quadrilatero della Moda (Fashion District), the famous network of streets that have on the one hand the most prestigious boutiques, perfect testimonials of haute couture and of Italian production and, on the other, have not lost signs of the glorious past of costumes, always remaining in balance between past, present and future.
Walking past the elegant shop windows, we come across new trendy spaces and beautiful and iconic old buildings, which today house the most famous and best known brands and reveal their secrets or in some cases guard the past, as in the case of the Museum of Fashion and Costumes in the prestigious Palazzo Morando.
In recent years, the contamination of fashion in the city has no longer been limited only to the area of the famous Via Montenapoleone, but has increasingly moved around the city, creating new areas completely devoted to fashion, such as in the case of the Via Tortona area. This former industrial area, which became famous because of the events known as the Fuorisalone (collateral events during the week of the Salone del Mobile or Furniture Fair), today represents a unique and picturesque walk which in every corner tells the story of urban contamination by fashion and design which have made it their second home, as in the case of Armani who has established in these streets his headquarters, also creating a museum dedicated to the label, its glorious past and the history of fashion in general, Armani Silos.
Discovering the indissoluble bond between the city and fashion does not represent a simple mix, but a real journey into the culture of fashion which has made Milan the undisputed capital of glamour and trends, of Italy and of the world.
